Jocelyn was graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in Violin Performance and pedagogy, under the tutelage of Mr. Andrea Zanchetta. During her time at the University, she actively involved in ensembles and orchestras. After that, she went abroad for further education. She studied master’s degree in Music Education at University College London (UCL) to pursue her career as a music educator. She started teaching violin during undergraduate. She has sufficient experiences of violin teaching individually and also in different schools including Mary of Providence primary school, Tin Shui Wai Chan Chun Ha Kindergarten, Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui primary school, Madam Lau Kam Lung Secondary School of MFBM and Christian Alliance H.C. primary school.
Started learning piano at the age of 7 and violin at the age of 8, Jocelyn received intensive trainings in sight-reading, performance and musicianship. She is actively joining some public performances with different orchestras including SAO Six Arts Orchestra, Opera Hong Kong, Gustav Mahler Orchestra, which given her opportunities and unique experiences to perform on stage.
She is currently working as a violin tutor, she has conducted classes in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. While she teaches musical knowledge and instrument skills to students of different caliber and background, more importantly she inspires in them positive thinking and perception about themselves. She finds the interest in music education that she believes she can make a contribution in changing people’s mind and life through music.
